PEMM Club stands for Physical Education Majors and Minors Club.  The club was started in 1964 with the purposes of helping physical education majors get acquainted, sharing ideas, promoting physical education interests, offering opportunities for practical experiences in the field, supplying information for job opportunities, and developing assistants for the physical education department.  Mr. James Gratz was the first faculty advisor. • 1987 Plain Dealer newspaper article, "Vocational Seniors to Get Certificates......Richard W. Robison, a Manchester Collge education professor, will speak.  He and his wife have had more students participate in the vocational school than any other family in the district.  Seven of the Robisons' 10 children have attended the school...."

A vast assortment of correspondence and materials from a variety of sources concerning personal and professionally related topics. Some are related to the Church of the Brethren One letter of interest regards Mr. Max Pinney, Huntington, Indiana, who donated a charcoal drawing of Roanoke Classical Seminary (by the artist, Hansacre, of Chicago) to Manchester College.

Decades of correspondence between Vernon Schwalm and Andrew Cordier. Cordier gives detailed accounts of behind-the-scenes activity at the United Nations during the Cold War, and the reader can watch the situation in the Congo unfold.  Cordier's role in the Cuban missile Crisis is described to Schwalm as are events on the Columbia University campus during a period of student uprising in the the 1960's. Cordier is always in the thick of things and his descriptions of political figures and events are intriguing.

L. W. Shultz: Piney Woods School.

As Director of Camp Alexander Mack in Milford, Indiana, L.W. Shultz sponsored the tours of the Cotton Blossom Singers of The Piney Woods Country Life School, located in Piney Woods, Mississippi.  He also spoke at Piney Woods on several occasions.

MC2011/235b/c: Copies of correspondence between A. Blair Helman and Dr. Jo Young Switzer as well as material related to Helman, President Emeritus,Parker Marden and President Jo Young Switzer. 

Rev. Kiyoshi was a survivor of the bombing of Hiroshima and worked with victims of the bomb.  He raised funds for the Hiroshima Maidens project in which women, severly burned by the bomb, received constructive surgery. He also raised funds for a peace center in Hiroshima. His message was delivered on 11 October 1982.

United Sexualities:  A group focusing on providing support to members of the GLBT community working to educate and promote dialogue amidst the Manchester community concerning issues of sexual minorities (for example, provides "safe zone" training).

Friends for Sexual Awareness:  A student-initiated group working to educate people about the different risks involved in unhealthy sexual lifestyles and the options surrounding safe sex.  It provides confidential information and support to people who are struggling with sex-related concerns.
