A history of actress, Michaele Myers, as written by Martha Ann Merkle Myers.  Also included are plays, photographs, newspaper articles, and posters.

"Tributes to 'Doc'" was compiled on Dr. Niswander's retirement from the College.  Dr. Niswander was hired by Manchester College in 1950 as the replacement for Dr. Kintner. He spent 30 years as an instructor, retiring in May of 1981.

More investigation is needed to see how these books and record pages tie in with class cards that are in the filing cabinets.

Newspaper: The News-Journal 1911 newspaper spread: "Wonderful Progress of Manchester College."  An interesting historical account about the founding of the College.

Mentioned in the "College Notes" section is Catherine Forney, a student in Manchester college and instructor in French in the academy. Her parents, D. L. Forney and Anna Shull, were one of the first students to enroll at Manchester college and served also as missionaries at Jalalpor, India.

A great deal of material including but not limited to: Correspondence surrounding Schwalm's trip to Nigeria, including letters to and from missionaries and interaction with the Foreign Mission Commission of the Church of the Brethren General Brotherhood Board. Issues regarding the Mexico Indiana Old Folks Home and Schwalm's leadership in the creation of Timbercrest.

Many drafts of presentations as well as completed speeches, articles, and sermons by Vernon Schwalm, including an address given in the fall of 1923 at Manchester College, the year the Academy was eliminated. Schwalm gives a brief history of the institution.

L. W. Shultz: Piney Woods School.

As Director of Camp Alexander Mack in Milford, Indiana, L.W. Shultz sponsored the tours of the Cotton Blossom Singers of The Piney Woods Country Life School, located in Piney Woods, Mississippi.  He also spoke at Piney Woods on several occasions. 

Genealogical information and correspondence (1947-1976) pertaining to L.W. Shultz who worked and taught at Manchester College in various positions (Librarian, Mathematics, Religious Education, Principal of Preparatory Department, Academy, Modern Languages) during the years 1924-1943.  The collection also contains books by L. W. Shultz.  Publications include an autobiography, a history of the Brethren, and a history of Camp Alexander Mack.

President Winger's correspondence with the State of Indiana as he strives to certify Manchester as a "standard college." This involves heavy financial requirements.These letters also deal with State of Indiana requirements for teaching certifications. The story behind the abandoning of the Academy. Photograph: Miss Blickenstaff and colleague in Mahableswa, India, in costumes.  It is not known if Miss Blickenstaff is a tourist, a missionary or if she is the Mary Blickenstaff referred to in the Brethren Encyclopedia.  The Brethren Encyclopedia writes of a Lynn (Mt. Morris Academy) and Mary Blickenstaff (La VerneCollege) as traveling to India in 1921 where Lynn Blickenstaff served as mission treasurer.  In 1935 Lynn became the manager of the Intermission Business Office in Bombay.  Mary assisted in administration, taught and hosted missionaries and visitors.  In 1946 the Church World Service asked Lynn to direct relief work in India    Their son, David Blickenstaff, was a 1937 Manchester College graduate.

"Gemeinschaft - Gesellschaft, Perspectives on the Human Adventure," by Earl S. Johnson, the first address in the Kermit Eby Memorial Lectureship. This copy of Johnson's address also contains biographical material about Kermit Eby.

William I. T. Hoover was born near Dayton, Ohio.  Among other institutions, he studied at Mt. Morris Academy.  He taught history and philosophy at Manchester College from 1901 - 1906.
