• Mount Morris Alumni Card File

Mount Morris College Academic Department Permanent Records - grade cards from 1889-1890,  including cards of Mary (Emmert) Stover and Adam Eby.

Robert E. Mohler graduated from Mount Morris College in 1912 with a B.A. degree.  He served Mount Morris as Physical Director, Education during the 1912-1913 school year.  Robert Mohler died in 1980. This is his postcard collection.

A postcard collection belonging to Robert Mohler, 1912 graduate of Mount Morris College. Pictures show Old Sandstone during and after the fire of 1912, and an image of the campus circa 1915-1920.

This is the postcard collection of Ida Fields Neff who graduated from Manchester College in 1920.  It reflects student life at Manchester College, Indiana and at Mount Morris College, Illinois. Included is an image of West End Mission, North Manchester.

Photographs of Mount Morris College circa 1912.  Some were used as postcards and have messages written on the verso. Images of Old Sandstone's exterior and interior after being damaged by fire. Pictures of Old Sandstone being rebuilt and after the building program.

The first known radio communication from the Manchester College campus was through an unlicensed amateur [HAM]radio station privately operated by the Singer brothers in 1927.  Their endeavor was entirely different from and unrelated to the first Manchester College radio station [WMIB] built by Dwight Farringer in 1945.  Francis Barr provides objects from the Singer brothers' interest and gives physical information about the construction of WMIB.

Winnie Pearson Wertenberger took commencial coursework as well as shorthand and typing, graduating from this program in 1901.  She continued to live in North Manchester and worked for an insurance office (The College Standard, June 1901, Vol. III, No. 1) and it is noted in the Manchester College Catlogue 1907, with announcements for 1907-1908 that she worked as a bookkeeper (company not noted, perhaps the same one as previously mentioned.).  Her file contains copies from The College Standard and the Manchester College Catalogues that talk about the commercial department at the college and reasons why young women might consider a commercial education.

Matriculation cards for all students enrolled in Manchester's 10-week relief training program.  Student information included: name, marital status, rooming location, parent's name, home address, courses, grades.

C.P.S. Unit 101 Registrar's Records along with a brief history and reference material describing the creation of CPS Camp 101 and its sub-camps, of which Manchester College was one. Manchester College's 10-week program was directed locally by Dr. Andrew W. Cordier.  The sixty-seventy CPS'ers were chosen by Brethren Service Committee, and the plan was for them to leave the country and begin relief and rehabilitation work immediately after the program's completion.
