Dear MU Community,
I hope your week is going well.
I know from email, phone and video conversations with some of you that each of us is experiencing the changes happening around us differently. The Bowen Center is partnering with Manchester through our Employee Assistance Program for counseling by phone. Colleagues who want to use this service may call 800-342-5653 to schedule an appointment.
Reach out if you need help and reach out to others as you can. Hang in there!
Funderburg Library and the Science Center
We have decided to close Funderburg Library. It is one less space that our custodial team will need to clean and it lightens their load. Students still on campus in North Manchester have access to computers in Helman Hall. Twelve will continue to be open and president’s office staff will continue to work in Funderburg when on campus. We also will be locking the Science Center, but it will be accessible by proximity card.
Alert systems
This is a good time to make sure you are signed up for Manchester’s alert system. We launched a new system last fall and many of you have not yet signed up. Once you have, you can manage your alert preferences via a phone app or the web and include others in the notification process. Please click here to learn more about signing up for MU’s alert system.
For those living in North Manchester, town officials encourage residents to sign up for their notification system here. It takes just a few minutes to set up an account in Reach Alerts, which allows the town to notify you of important information via text, voice or email.
I’m happy to pass on a gratitude from Stacy Erickson-Pesetski today: “One duo that I think could use a public shout-out right now are the Registrar team (Audrey and Rudy). Rudy has been swiftly troubleshooting online registration for students, and Audrey (and Academic Standards Committee) will do the heavy lifting to make sure the P/NP policy helps our students.”
Be well and be strong.
Dave
